Tried the $4 app for two weeks, my spreadsheet is still the winner

I got sick of dragging numbers into Excel every payday, so I dropped $4 on a budgeting app that had all these fancy charts and auto-sync. The app kept miscounting my gas station snacks as groceries and it made my savings goal look like a cliff dive. I went back to my plain Google Sheet with a running total, and honestly, I missed the part where I type every cent myself. What do you all use when an app just makes things messier than a free notebook?

Aw man, that gas station snack thing would drive me nuts too. Half the time those apps cost money just to make you do more work.
