Took me 6 weeks to find the right budget app that works for me
I kept switching between apps every few days because none of them tracked my irregular freelance income right. Finally settled on one that lets me manually enter pay dates instead of fixed biweekly. Anyone else have trouble finding a setup that fits variable income?

Man I went through the EXACT same thing for months. Every app wanted me to set a fixed salary date and I'm over here getting paid like three different times in completely random patterns depending on when clients send invoices. Finally found one that just treats each payment as a separate event you log manually. @juliawalker I tried the spreadsheet route too but I got lazy about updating it after like two weeks.

Maybe it's just me but I don't really get the struggle. I've been using the same free spreadsheet for like four years now. Just put in my freelance checks when they come and move on with my day. All this app hopping sounds exhausting.
