That $60 meal kit subscription that actually saved me money

I know the whole meal kit thing sounds like a ripoff for people who can't cook, but hear me out. I signed up for one of those delivery boxes during a promo, then forgot to cancel for 3 months. Turns out, I was throwing away less food and ordering way less takeout, so my grocery bill dropped by about $80 a month. The kicker is I'm a night shift nurse, so planning meals at 2 a.m. was never happening before. The prep time is still annoying, but the cost math works if you actually use every box and skip the add-ons. Has anyone else found these things cheaper than their old grocery run, or am I just bad at shopping?

Ha! I bought a chest freezer once and suddenly became a hoarder of discounted turkeys.
