PSA: my dryer vent clean-out was a hidden money pit

Last Saturday my clothes weren't drying after a full cycle. I pulled the dryer out and found the vent hose completely clogged with lint buildup. Cleaned it out myself in about 20 minutes with a $7 brush from Ace Hardware. Now my drying time dropped from 60 minutes to 35 minutes per load. Anyone else ever skipped this and paid way more on their electric bill?

Preach, I found a dead mouse in mine and my bill dropped 40 bucks.

Dang @sammurray, that's a hell of a trade-off. Dead mouse in exchange for $40 savings? I'd call that a win-win in the grossest way possible.
