My bank hit me with a $35 overdraft over $2.14, so I finally called and got it wiped
I was standing in line at the grocery store here in Fort Wayne last Tuesday when I watched my debit card get declined over a $2.14 coffee. Turned out a gym charge I forgot to cancel went through the night before and pushed me negative, and the bank stacked two $35 fees on top of it. I went home, pulled up my account, and saw the charges hit on the same day, which felt wrong to me. So I called the bank and just asked them to look at it, no big speech or anything. The rep reversed both fees and set me up with a low balance alert at $100, so now my phone yells at me before this stuff happens. Anyone else had luck getting fees taken off just by calling, or does it depend on the bank?
