My 2009 laptop finally died last Tuesday. Dug out the old budget spreadsheet and realized I've saved enough for a new one.

Man, that's a tough break... but at least the timing worked out. Seeing that saved-up number must have been a huge relief. Good on you for sticking with the plan.

Did you already have a good safety net built up or did you just get lucky with the timing? Either way, it's nice to see someone catch a real break when life throws a curveball like that.
