Hot take: My grocery bill dropped from $150 to $90 a week after I started meal planning on Sundays.

I used to just grab whatever looked good at the store, but for the last month I've been writing a list and cooking bigger batches. Some folks say planning takes too much time, but others swear by the savings. What's your biggest single change that cut a regular cost?

Honestly, that drop sounds totally possible and awesome. Getting a list together really stops me from buying random snacks and extra stuff I don't need. My own big change was just switching to store brand basics like rice and beans, which saved a bunch.

I get what you're saying, but it's not just about junk food... switching to store brands and planning ahead really adds up week after week.

That's a big drop, but I wonder if it's just a temporary thing. Grocery prices keep going up everywhere, so saving that much every week seems off. Maybe you just bought a lot of junk food before and now you're not.
