Found a meal prep hack at my local Aldi that saved me $60 a month

I was grabbing groceries the other day in Charlotte and noticed the bulk bins section at Aldi had way better prices than the packaged stuff. I usually buy pre-portioned chicken breasts for my weekly meal prep, but they were out. So I grabbed a family pack for $8.50 instead of the usual $14 for three singles. I took it home, trimmed the fat myself, and split it into 6 portions. Now I'm getting more food for less money and it only takes like 15 extra minutes. Has anyone else tried switching to bulk buys for meal prep and seen a real difference in their grocery bill?

I'd probably mess it up and pay $60 more for takeout.

$8.50 for a family pack is a steal, I've been doing the same thing for years at my local Aldi in Ohio. Last week I grabbed a giant pack of ground beef for $6 and turned it into 4 pounds of taco meat and 2 pounds of meatballs. The portioning takes me maybe 20 minutes on a Sunday, and I'm saving about $40 a month easy. Plus I get to control exactly how much fat is in there, which matters for my meal prep. The prepackaged stuff is just paying for the convenience of someone else cutting it for you.
