Appreciation post: my grocery run went from 90 minutes to 40 once I stopped shopping the middle aisles
For about 2 years I was doing the full loop at the Kroger on 5th, hitting every aisle, and walking out $140 lighter with half a cart of stuff I didn't plan on. Six months ago I started doing produce, dairy, and meat first with a list taped to the cart handle, and my weekly bill settled around $85 because I'm not standing in front of the chips for 10 minutes talking myself into a bag. Has anyone else found that the store layout itself is the thing blowing up the budget, and if so, what's your route through the place?
