Overheard a guy at the airport say he never pays for checked bags, and now I'm rethinking my whole packing routine
Last month I was waiting at the gate in Chicago and this guy told his friend he hasn't paid a bag fee in 4 years. He said he just wears his heaviest jacket and layers and stuffs the pockets, then ships a small box of extra clothes to his hotel for about $12 using flat rate. I did the math on my last trip to Phoenix and I spent $70 round trip on bags for stuff I barely touched. So now I'm wondering, has anyone actually tried mailing stuff ahead to a hotel front desk, and did they hold it for you without a hassle?
