My uncle swore by sleeping in the airport and he wasn't wrong

Back in 2019 I was flying out of Denver at like 6am and my uncle told me to just crash at the gate the night before instead of getting a hotel. I thought he was crazy, like who actually does that? But I tried it and honestly it saved me about 80 bucks on a room. You just find a corner near the charging stations, spread your hoodie out, and set an alarm for 4ish. Security might give you a look but they mostly leave you alone if you're not blocking anything. The floors are cold and the lights never go off so bring a sleep mask and extra socks. I've done it maybe 6 times now and only got bothered once by a janitor. Has anyone else had luck with airport overnighters or did I just get lucky in Denver?

Denver's actually one of the better airports for sleeping, no joke. I've crashed there twice myself and the janitors never gave me any trouble. But you gotta be careful with that 4am alarm, man. Their TSA line opens at like 4:30 but it gets slammed by 5. If you're at gate A, the floor near those big windows by the sushi place is way warmer than the tile near the charging stations. I learned that the hard way when I woke up shivering with a dead phone. Also pro tip: the security guards at DEN don't care about sleepers near the food court escalators, but they'll kick you out of the train hallway every time.

Honestly, that tile by the charging stations is a killer. I made that mistake once and my whole back was jacked up the next morning. If you're gonna crash there, bring a hoodie or something to ball up under your head, makes a huge difference.
