My hostel in Prague had a free breakfast sign-up sheet that people kept missing

I stayed at a place called The Madhouse last week and they had a paper sheet on the fridge for the free breakfast. You had to write your name and room number by 10 PM the night before. I saw at least five people walk right past it every evening, then show up in the morning confused. The staff would just shrug and point at the sheet. It saved me about $7 a day for six days. What's a simple freebie you've seen travelers miss out on?

People probably just don't want the hassle. Free breakfast is never that good anyway, and you have to be on their schedule.

You're right about being on their schedule. That's the real killer when you're already trying to get out the door. The free food just isn't worth the extra stress.

Well, I wouldn't say free breakfast is never good. I've had some pretty decent spreads at hotels, especially the ones that do hot eggs and sausage. But you're right about the schedule part, that's what gets me every time.
