My cousin swore by eating at buffets for lunch instead of dinner

He said lunch buffets in Vegas are always cheaper and have the same food, just earlier in the day. Tried it at the Wicked Spoon last month and paid $28 instead of $45 for the dinner price. The crab legs were actually fresher at lunch too, which I didn't expect. Anyone else find good deals by switching meal times on trips?

Buffet timing is a smart play but the real pro move is going for breakfast buffets right when they switch over to lunch. You'll pay the breakfast price but get first dibs on the lunch spread as they bring it out. I've done that at the Bellagio and got prime rib at 10:45 AM for like $22. The staff is usually more relaxed in the morning too so they actually refill the good stuff faster. Do they still let you sit through the transition or do they kick you out now?

Your timing is killer with the breakfast to lunch switch. Some places do play games with that though. I hit the Wynn last year around 10:30 and the manager came by to warn everyone the buffet was closing at 11 for a full reset, no overlap. But at the MGM Grand they actually let you stay seated and just swap your plate out for the new stuff. That's the real jackpot because you get the crab legs and carving station before the lunch rush hits. Just gotta ask at the podium how they handle the changeover before you pay. Ever had any luck at the Cosmopolitan doing that?
