My cousin in Madrid showed me this trick with bread bags for packing clothes
I was over at my cousin's place last spring before a trip to Barcelona and she was stuffing her socks into empty bread bags (the kind with the twist tie). She said it keeps them dry if your bag gets wet and also helps you fit way more in your carry-on. I tried it on a flight to Chicago last month and I fit a whole extra pair of jeans plus a jacket. Anyone else got weird packing tricks from family that actually work?

My cousin in Madrid showed me that bread bag trick too. Honestly it works way better than you'd think for squeezing extra stuff in a carry on.

Any specific type of bread bag works best for this, or just any plastic one with a twist tie?

Honestly notice how we're always finding weird little hacks to make everyday stuff work better. Bread bags are perfect cause they're thin and stretchy, but I've used ziplock bags too though those are bulkier. The twist tie is key though, gotta keep it sealed tight or stuff shifts around and makes a mess. It's funny how the simplest things we already have around become the best solutions when you stop and look at them.
