I used to book hotels right away, but a flight delay in Chicago changed my plan...

Got stuck overnight and found a last-minute hotel app deal for $75, half the price I would've paid booking ahead. Anyone else find better deals waiting until you actually arrive somewhere?

Happened to me in Denver, saved a fortune.

That's a wild story, but it makes total sense. Hotels really do drop prices like crazy when they have empty rooms to fill last minute. @danielwhite seeing the same thing in Denver just proves it's not a one off thing. I've started checking apps right after landing too, it feels risky but it usually pays off. Kind of makes you wonder why we ever book ahead at all.

@wren652 Last time I booked ahead I paid 60 bucks more for the same room.
