I thought the free city tours in Prague were just a tourist trap

I joined one near the Old Town Square last month and the guide pointed out a local bakery where a coffee and pastry cost half what the main street cafes charge. It completely changed how I look for food in new cities now. What's the best local tip you've gotten from a free walking tour?
