I thought booking flights on a Tuesday was a total myth
For years I heard that Tuesday is the cheapest day to buy plane tickets, but I figured it was just an old travel tale. I decided to test it for a trip from Chicago to Lisbon. I checked prices every day for two weeks straight, writing down the numbers. On a random Tuesday at 3 PM, the price dropped by $87 compared to the Friday before. I booked it right then. The next day, it went back up. I've done this three times now for different trips and saved money each time. It's not a huge amount every single time, but it works more often than not. What other flight booking 'rules' have you guys found to be actually true?

Honestly, checking at 3 PM is the real trick, not just the Tuesday part.

Works if you have a flexible schedule, otherwise it's useless.

My old job had a 9 to 5 with zero flexibility. I set a phone alarm for 2:55 every single weekday, not just Tuesday. That five minute head start let me grab a spot maybe once a week. It was the only way it worked without a flexible schedule.
