Hot take: I chose bus travel over discount flights for my last trip to Nashville and saved $80
Everyone in this group talks about grabbing those $29 airline deals, but after my 3 day trip last month, I am done with that for short hops. I booked a Greyhound from Louisville to Nashville for $45 round trip. The flight was $125 with bag fees. Sure, the bus took 6 hours each way instead of 1, but I read a book, ate a sandwich from home, and did not deal with airport security lines. The bus dropped me right downtown, too. My hotel was 10 minutes walking. I do not think people count the time and cash spent getting to airports that are 40 miles out. Has anyone else ditched flying for ground travel on trips under 300 miles?
