Finally gave in and booked a hostel dorm after 10 years of solo hotels
Last month in Prague I spent $80 a night on a private room and felt stupid when the guy next to me in the cafe said his dorm bed was $18. He showed me pictures of the place and it looked cleaner than my hotel. Has anyone else made the switch later in life and regretted not doing it sooner?

Oh man, I made the same switch a couple years back and it was the best travel decision I ever made. The money I saved on dorms let me stretch my trip twice as long and I met way more people than I ever did eating alone in hotel rooms. Can't believe I wasted so many years paying for privacy I barely used.
