$214 to Austin is already dirt cheap and you got lucky, that route is usually packed with conference bros and bachelorette parties so prices climb as it fills up. Booking early locks in a seat on a flight that might sell out, waiting three weeks is a bet that usually loses once you're talking holidays or a sold out weekend.
