Wasted $80 on a 'luxury' candle-making kit that was total junk

I saw this ad for a DIY candle kit promising high end scents and reusable jars, so I dropped $80 on it. Turns out the wax was low quality and the wicks kept drowning out after an hour. Three candles later they all smelled like burnt plastic instead of 'vanilla sandalwood'. Anyone else fall for one of those fancy looking kits that just disappoint?

Wait, 'years to age'? @william_miller you're telling me real sandalwood takes years for scent?

The scented oils they use in those kits are usually fake too. Real sandalwood takes years to age, not something you mix up in an afternoon.
