Update: dollar store glass jars beat my $30 Amazon spice rack and I'm weirdly happy about it
So I've had this ugly wire spice rack from Amazon for like two years, the kind that spins and drops garlic powder on the floor every time you touch it. Last month I was at a Dollar Tree in Tulsa picking up birthday cards and saw these little square glass jars with cork lids, 4 for a dollar. I bought 12 of them, spent $3 total, and lined them up on a cheap bamboo tray I already had from an old gift basket. The difference is huge, I can actually see what's in each jar, the cork keeps stuff fresher than those sliding plastic caps did, and the tray slides into a cabinet instead of hogging counter space. My $30 rack is now holding rubber bands in the garage. My boyfriend walked in and asked when we got a fancy spice setup, which honestly made my whole week. I also printed tiny labels on the library printer for free, so nothing says cinnamon when it's cumin anymore. Has anyone else swapped a pricey organizer for dollar store stuff and been shocked it worked better? What's your best cheap upgrade like this?
