The 99 cent cork coaster that saved my landlord's deposit in Portland
I was holding a $4 wine glass from Goodwill and somehow knocked it over onto the thrifted oak nightstand. The glass shattered but the nightstand had zero water rings, because I'd stuck a cheap cork coaster under it that morning. My cat knocked the coaster off two hours later, so I grabbed a hot glue gun and fixed it to the bottom for good. Now my whole place feels fancier just knowing I don't have to panic when guests bring drinks. Anyone else secretly glue down their cheap fixes so they actually work?

Two weeks ago I superglued a pencil holder to my desk after knocking it over for the fifth time, so I get the vibe completely. My cat still manages to knock stuff off shelves even with everything bolted down, honestly she's like a tiny furry demolition crew. Glue is basically the only thing keeping my apartment from looking like a disaster zone, so you're in good company.
