Picked the $8 grocery store roses over the $45 florist bunch for my mom's birthday
I walked into the florist near my mom's place in Sacramento, saw they wanted $45 for a dozen that looked half dead, and walked right back out to the grocery store where I got two bunches for $16 total. I trimmed the stems, split them between two vases, and wrapped the cheap ones in brown paper with a ribbon from the dollar store, and honestly she kept going on about how full the arrangement looked. Has anyone else figured out which flowers actually hold up from the grocery store vs the florist, or is it just luck of the draw?
