Overheard a lady at Goodwill last week saying she reuses pickle jars as cocktail glasses

She said she peels the labels and they look exactly like the $8 ones at HomeGoods. Has anyone actually tried serving drinks out of pickle jars or is that just asking for a weird look at dinner parties?

I mean come on its a pickle jar. Unless you're serving drinks to the Queen of England who cares what glass it comes in. People act like you need crystal stemware for a Tuesday night margarita. I've drank whiskey out of a mason jar at a wedding and nobody batted an eye. If the label's off and it looks clean then what's the big deal honestly. Half the stuff at HomeGoods probably came from the same factory in China anyway.
