I compared a $3 thrift store pan to my $40 nonstick one and the cheap one cooked better
Last month I grabbed a beat up cast iron skillet at a Goodwill in Columbus for $3, just because it looked old and heavy and I felt bad for it. I cooked eggs on it the next morning and they slid right out with crispy edges, then my $40 nonstick pan made the same eggs stick and burn in spots. The nonstick one is only 8 months old too, and the coating already looks scratched and sad from my roommate using a fork in it. So now the thrift pan lives on my stove and I use it for almost everything. Anyone else find a cheap kitchen thing that totally beat the fancy version?
