I chose the $12 Goodwill vase over the $60 crate and barrel one and got roasted by my sister
She said the thrifted one looked like a chipped pickle jar, but after I hit it with some spray paint and a $3 rope wrap, it's now my favorite centerpiece and nobody can tell the diff. Has anyone else won a decorating battle with a rescue piece from the bins?

Well, your sister might have a point. A thrifted vase with spray paint and rope doesn't sound like a centerpiece, it sounds like a craft project that's gonna look dated in six months.

Yeah exactly, spray paint fixes everything. I did the same thing with a weird old brass lamp from Savers and now it's my most complimented piece.
