Found out air drying clothes saves way more than I thought

I ran the numbers on my electric bill last month in Phoenix and almost fell out of my chair. I always figured the dryer cost maybe $10 a month tops. Turns out running that thing 4 times a week was eating up nearly $45 just in electricity for a single person. I looked up the actual wattage on my model and did the math with our local rate of $0.12 per kWh. Started hanging shirts and jeans on a $15 folding rack from Target instead. Already seen the next bill drop by $38 and my clothes aren't shrinking anymore either. Anyone else ever actually check what their appliances are pulling?

Hang on, let me go check if my dryer has a secret gold-mining function I didn't know about. That's insane. $45 just for drying a few shirts and socks? I'm pretty sure my ancient dryer is powered by a hamster wheel and good intentions, but now I'm terrified to look. Might have to start treating my bathrobe like a lawn ornament and just drape it over the patio furniture.

My buddy Tim actually plugged his dryer into a power strip once and it melted the whole outlet, so yeah, $45 sounds like a steal compared to that.
