That church job in Ohio had bricks laid wrong by 2 inches
I got called out to a small church outside Toledo last spring to fix a walkway. Whoever did the original work set the brick courses so far off they had gaps big enough to stick a trowel handle in. It wasn't a settling issue either, the footing was solid. They just never pulled a line past the first course and eyeballed the rest. I spent about 6 hours chipping out mortar and resetting 40 or so bricks to get it level. The pastor kept asking if I could just paint over the mess to save money. I told him paint won't fix a 2 inch lip that'll trip old ladies. Has anyone else run into work this lazy from a crew that should've known better?
