Swore off fly ash bricks until I saw how much they cut down on site waste.

I always thought they were weaker than regular bricks. But after helping on a demo job, I saw how much less gets thrown away with them.

You ever see how much regular brick just gets smashed and dumped after a demo? I totally had the same thought about them being weaker. But last month, watching a crew tear down a small wall, the regular bricks were mostly shattered junk. The fly ash section came down in bigger chunks they could actually reuse. Changed my whole view, seeing those two piles side by side. Guess a little less strength is worth it if we're not burying tons of busted material.

So @hugo_cooper, what's the actual break point for strength?

So we're trading strength for less trash?
