Switched to a bullnose trowel after 12 years of using a philly

I always thought a philly was the only way to get a clean joint, but my boss handed me a bullnose last Tuesday and I was shocked how much easier it was on my wrist. Finished the same wall in 3 hours instead of 4. Anyone else made a tool switch that surprised you?

My uncle switched from a claw hammer to a framing hammer after 20 years and said the same thing about his elbow. It's funny how we get stuck in our ways thinking the old tool is the only way to go, but then your body tells you otherwise after enough years. I noticed the same thing with my kitchen knives - used the same cheap set for a decade until my sister gave me a decent chef's knife and I couldn't believe how much faster I chopped onions. Sometimes the tool you've been fighting against your whole life was just the wrong tool for the job.

Maybe your uncle just finally admitted his hammer had it coming.
