Stopped buttering my brick edges after a guy in Des Moines showed me his trowel work
Spent 12 years slapping mortar on every brick edge before laying, thought that was just how it's done. Old timer on a job in Des Moines showed me he only butters the head joints and lets the bed mortar do the rest, saved me about 20 minutes per course. Anyone else dropped the full butter habit or am I late to this?
