Pro tip: I started using a grout bag on a 3 ft wall in Tucson and it went way faster than my trowel
Had a small block wall out back in Tucson last month, maybe 3 ft high by 20 ft long, and I was dreading the mortar joints since my trowel work always looks sloppy. Tried a grout bag from the box store on a whim and the joints came out way cleaner and probably 40 minutes faster because I wasn't fighting drips everywhere. Has anyone else switched to a bag for small jobs, or am I going to regret it once I get back on a full size wall?
