Laid my 10,000th brick today and didn't even plan it
I was just finishing up a garden wall for a client in Oak Park and my buddy asked how many I'd laid total this year. Counted back through my job photos and hit exactly 10,000 on that last course of common bricks. Has anyone else ever hit a random milestone like that without trying?

Man, that is something else. 10,000 bricks without even trying to hit that number, thats a real nice milestone to stumble onto. I bet looking back through all those photos brought back some good memories of the work you put in. Sounds like you've been putting in some serious honest labor and it just added up on its own. Good for you, man.

Ten thousand bricks without even trying to hit that number" - that's exactly what gets me about this kind of stuff. It's how most good things in life pile up, you know? Like when you're just doing the work day in and day out, not really keeping score, and then one day you look up and realize you've built something real. That's what I love about seeing posts like this from @danielwhite. It reminds me of how my old neighbor kept a garden for years, just watering and weeding without much fuss, and then one summer it was just this explosion of flowers and vegetables he never planned on. The numbers don't matter as much as the fact that you were there putting in the time, and the proof is right there in front of you.
