I hit 15,000 bricks laid in a single project and honestly, I think counting them is a waste of time.

My foreman insisted on the tally for a client invoice, but focusing on the count over the quality of the coursing and joints felt backwards to me.

Reminds me of how my kid's school tracks reading minutes instead of what they actually get from the book. Feels like we're just chasing numbers everywhere now, like the metric itself becomes the whole point. I mean, you can have a perfect count on a wall that looks like garbage, right?

Huh, I don't know, is it really that deep though? Like yeah, tracking reading minutes is kind of a shallow way to measure it, but at least kids are reading. I remember my school just gave us books and hoped for the best, and most kids just lied about finishing them anyway. Feels like sometimes we overthink this stuff, you know?
