Dropped $180 on a brick tongs setup for a tight alley job and it paid for itself by lunch
Doing a garage rebuild off Delmar in St. Louis last spring and the side yard was so narrow the wheelbarrow barely fit, so I was carrying every brick by hand. A guy on the crew said spend the money on brick tongs, so I grabbed a set for around $180 and figured it was a waste. Turned out I could haul six at a time and we saved most of a day on that wall. My back still remembers the jobs where I did it the old way. Anyone here keep tongs on the truck all the time or is it just certain jobs?
Man, $180 stings up front but a whole day saved by lunch is a no-brainer. I keep mine on the truck all the time now, they just hang on a hook and never get in the way. Even on wide open jobs I end up grabbing them because six at a time beats six trips.
