Bought a used mortar mixer for 400 bucks, best decision I made this year

Spent all morning hand mixing for a small retaining wall job and said forget it, grabbed a beat up old mixer from a guy retiring. Has anyone else found that paying a little extra for the right tool saves way more in back pain than you think?

My back doctor told me one mixer costs less than two chiropractor visits (which is true).

$250 for a good kitchen mixer versus $150 for one chiropractor visit, and the mixer lasts for YEARS. That math is just INSANE when you really think about it. Doctors and specialists are getting so expensive that even basic tools and appliances are starting to look like the smart choice. I've noticed this pattern everywhere now - people fixing their own cars, cutting their own hair, even learning to do basic plumbing from YouTube. The whole system is basically saying "if you want to save money, learn to do everything yourself." It's wild how things that used to be normal expenses are now seen as something you need to "invest" in to avoid paying someone else. Really makes you wonder what other everyday things we're all overpaying for without even realizing it.
