Used perlite for my monstera props after years of soil, and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long
I've been rooting monstera cuttings in regular potting mix for like 3 years and always ended up with rot on at least one out of every 4 or 5 attempts. Two months ago I finally tried a clear cup of perlite with a little water at the bottom, and every single cutting pushed out roots in under 3 weeks with zero mush. Being able to actually see the roots growing against the glass instead of digging around and disturbing them made a huge difference too. The soil props always looked fine on top while the stem was quietly turning to goo underneath. Anyone else made this swap and have tips for when to move them into actual soil?
