Two ways to grow basil indoors, and my kitchen window has me stuck
My neighbor keeps her basil in a south window with a cheap $12 grow bulb and swears the smell is stronger than anything from a garden center. I tried the same pot on my north sill for 6 weeks and got leggy stems with barely any leaf. Is it the light or the seed, and which side are you on?
A $12 bulb on a north sill is like bringing a butter knife to a sword fight, your neighbor has the sun doing 90% of the work and the bulb just topping it off. Six weeks of leggy stems is your answer, get that pot somewhere with real light or accept you are growing spaghetti.
