The 14 inch pot that turned my balcony tomatoes around
I moved to Austin back in March and my tomatoes just looked sad no matter what I did. Watering schedule was fine, sunlight was fine, but the leaves kept curling. Then my neighbor who grows prize peppers told me to check the root ball. I pulled one up after 6 weeks and the roots were circling the bottom of that 10 inch pot like a spiral. Swapped everything to 14 inch fabric pots last month and the difference is wild. The plants doubled in size and the fruit set actually took. Has anyone else seen root bound plants just stall out no matter how good the dirt is?
