Showerthought: a guy at the Tacoma plant swap said 'you don't own houseplants, you just rent them until they die,' and it's been bugging me for 2 weeks
I keep thinking about how he said that while handing me a free pothos cutting, because it's a total lie if you actually learn what each plant wants instead of just watering everything on the same Sunday schedule, so am I wrong for wanting to tell him that?

A friend of mine had a spider plant live 11 years because she figured out it wanted bright light and less water in winter. The rent thing only works if you skip the part where you learn what the plant actually needs.
