Question about my stubborn orchid

It hasn't bloomed in over two years. Should I change the light or fertilizer?

My orchid CARE was so bad, I once moved a plant next to the AC vent for 'cooler nights' and accidentally gave it hypothermia. True story, the leaves turned to mush. Now I just ignore mine until it throws a flower out of sheer SPITE. Nathan's right about the neglect part, my overwatering used to drown any hope of blooms. Sometimes the best thing you can do is literally walk away and let the plant figure its life out.

Orchids usually need a 10 to 15 degree temperature drop at night to bloom. Focusing on light or fertilizer is missing the bigger picture if your home is too steady warm. These plants can hold out for years without flowers when they're too comfortable. Overwatering is another classic way to keep them stubbornly green. I learned the hard way that being too attentive can actually prevent blooming. Try giving it cooler nights and a bit of neglect before you change anything else.

Hypothermia from an AC vent is a new low in orchid care.
