My neighbor's new obsession with carnivorous plants got a bit out of hand

Last week, my neighbor Mark decided to convert his entire sunroom into a bog garden for Venus flytraps. He bought over 50 of them online and spent three days setting up special lights and a humidity system. On Friday, his power bill alert went off because the setup tripped a circuit, and half the plants wilted before he got it fixed. Has anyone else had a friend dive headfirst into a niche plant hobby with messy results?

I've been on the receiving end of that exact move at least three times. Last time, he borrowed my favorite coffee mug and I found it a week later in the break room dishwasher. It's become a running joke in our office.
