My neighbor Deb said my garden looks too perfect now I'm second guessing everything

She was dead serious when she said it needs more weeds for the bees and I thought she was joking at first. Then she showed me her patch of clover and dandelions that was absolutely swarming with pollinators. Do you ever have someone say something so simple it just flips your whole approach upside down?

I left a few dandelions last year and my tomatoes went nuts with the extra bees around.

Laughing at myself over here because I tried the same thing last spring and my dandelions turned into a full on takeover. I got so many bees though, they practically formed a union and started working my zucchini patch. My tomatoes were the size of softballs for a solid month before I realized I'd created a tiny ecosystem in my backyard. Now I just let the dandelions do their thing and hope the neighbors don't call the city on me.
