My aunt's one question about plant labels made me rethink everything
Last month she saw me writing pot names in pencil on little plastic sticks and asked why not just use a permanent marker since rain wipes pencil off. I switched to a paint pen after that, and now my coleus and ferns actually stay identified through the season. Has anyone else had a relative spot a gardening shortcut you missed?

Pencil on plant tags was my whole system until my grandma visited and pointed out the same thing. She grabbed a grease pencil from her junk drawer and wrote on one of my tags right in front of me. Thing stayed legible through two rainstorms and a surprise frost. Now I use those little paint pens with the fine tips, but honestly the grease pencil worked just as good. Makes me wonder what other basic gardening tricks I've been missing because nobody told me. My coleus lineup thanks her every summer now.
