Finally picked a spot for my new fiddle leaf fig

For the last month, I've been going back and forth between putting it in my bright but drafty front window or the dimmer, warmer corner by the heater. I chose the corner, figuring stable warmth was better than a cold draft, even with less light. After 3 weeks, it's put out two new leaves and hasn't dropped a single old one. I check the soil every 4 days and it seems really happy. Has anyone else had a plant do better in a spot you thought was less than ideal?

Plants really do seem to thrive on boring consistency.

Heard from a plant shop owner that ficus hate temp swings more than anything, so your corner sounds like a solid win. @hayes.tara's right about consistency being key - I had a snake plant in a dark bathroom that grew faster than one in a sunny window lol. Read somewhere that stable humidity beats perfect light for most houseplants, which tracks with your fig doing well.

Read somewhere they hate drafts more than low light.
