Broke 40 species in my backyard and I can't stop counting

Started last spring just tracking what was in my fence line for fun. By August I was at 27. Last weekend I hit 40 and honestly it shook me a little. All from a half acre yard in a normal suburb, mostly weeds people pull out. Plantain, henbit, shepherd's purse, all that stuff. What really got me was when I started counting the grasses and sedges, that added 9 alone. I've been walking these same patches for years and never saw half of it. Makes me wonder what I'm still missing about the stuff I think I know. Anyone else ever hit a number like this and feel like you've been blind the whole time?

The grasses and sedges thing hit me hardest, that's 9 species you basically walked past for who knows how long. My yard sits on a quarter acre and I thought I had it figured out after two summers, then I found 6 different sedges just by kneeling down and looking close. Those things all look like the same green pointy blades to me until you really stare at them, and now I can't unsee it. It's honestly a little unsettling how much of my own property has been a mystery this whole time. I'm at 31 right now and I feel like I'm gonna be obsessed with cracking 40 all season.
