Vent: That week I wrecked a whole batch of leather spines

Last Tuesday I was finishing up 6 journals for a custom order and my PVA glue was too thin. I didnt notice until the leather started bubbling up on 3 of them, total mess. Turns out my room was way too humid from the rain we had for 4 days straight. Had to scrap those covers and start over, cost me about $40 in materials and a whole afternoon. Anyone else run into humidity throwing off their glue consistency?

Why not just add a little water to thicken it up?

Actually I had a buddy try that once with a cheese sauce for nachos and it turned into a weird gluey mess. He was following some random blog that swore by the trick but the texture was all wrong, more like wallpaper paste than anything you'd want on chips. So maybe it works for some things, but in his case it definitely backfired and he ended up ordering pizza instead.
