Spent three hours trying to get the grain direction right on a single piece of marbled paper...

It was for a quarter leather binding, and I kept tearing it. Finally realized I was holding the paper the wrong way the whole time. Anyone else ever get stuck on something that simple?

Ever feel like your brain just refuses to see the obvious? Tbh, I've done that with wood grain more times than I can count. It's always the simple stuff that trips you up the worst.

Reminds me of the time I spent an hour trying to start a lawnmower that was already running. Just kept pulling the cord while it was chugging away next to me. My neighbor finally came over to ask if I was okay.

Honestly, spent a whole afternoon trying to hang a picture level once. Turns out my eyes were the problem, not the wall.
