Rant: Had to choose between a full leather cover or a cloth one for a custom journal last month
The client wanted something durable but also soft to the touch, which put me in a real bind (no pun intended). I went with a high-quality linen cloth over the leather, thinking it would be more unique and still hold up. Honestly, after finishing it, I'm second-guessing if the leather would have had that classic feel people expect. Has anyone else picked cloth for a 'heirloom' piece and been happy with it long-term?
